Three US F-15 Jets Shot Down Over Kuwait in Friendly Fire Incident
Three fighter jets belonging to the United States military were shot down over Kuwaiti airspace. US Central Command (CENTCOM) has attributed the incident to friendly fire.
“Three US F-15E Strike Eagle aircraft conducting operations in support of Operation Epic Fury were accidentally shot down over Kuwait in a friendly fire incident,” said US Central Command (CENTCOM) in a statement, referring to the ongoing joint Israel-US operation against Iran.
CENTCOM stated that during “active combat—which included attacks from Iranian aircraft, ballistic missiles, and drones—US Air Force fighter jets were inadvertently shot down by Kuwaiti air defence systems.”
“All six crew members safely ejected, were evacuated without injury, and are in stable condition,” the statement said.
“Kuwait has acknowledged the incident, and we are grateful for the efforts of Kuwaiti defence forces and their support in this ongoing operation,” it added.
CENTCOM also noted that the incident remains under investigation.
