Three types of presidents

I almost could not believe my ears when I heard that President Abdurrahman "Gus Dur" Wahid said that if he stepped down, Madura, Aceh and Irian Jaya would secede from the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. It was really exasperating to hear this.

Secondly, I also believe that Gus Dur's visit to Kalimantan was overdue. Why did he go abroad when the conflict showed signs of worsening? Couldn't he have postponed his foreign trip and taken care of his own people?

A friend of mine may have been correct when he said that we have had three types of presidents: Sukarno practiced democracy, Soeharto committed corruption and Gus Dur is fond of making foreign trips.
