Three TTU DPRD Members Examined by NTT Police Over dr Icha Case

Three members of the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) and a veterinarian from the Timor Tengah Utara (TTU) Livestock Service complied with a summons for examination at the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Regional Police Headquarters on Tuesday (14/7/2026). They are Therezius Lazakar (Golkar), Norbertus Tubani (PKB), Veronika Lake (PDIP), and Maria Mathildis Sau. The four are reported parties suspected of intimidating doctor Eliza Princila Utami Pakaenoni, known as Icha, causing her to suffer depression and end her life. They arrived at the NTT Police Headquarters at around 10:40 WITA accompanied by their legal counsel team. The four reported individuals did not provide any statements to the media and are still undergoing examination. The Director of PPA and PPO at the NTT Police, Senior Commissioner Nova Irone Surentu, confirmed the examination of the four reported parties. However, he stated that the handling of the case lies with the General Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimum) of the NTT Police. Previously, the examination of the three DPRD members and the civil servant from the TTU Livestock Service had been postponed. The Director of General Criminal Investigation at the NTT Police, Senior Commissioner Sigit Haryono, explained that the postponement was made at the request of the reported parties’ legal advisors, citing their clients’ inability to attend. The examination was then rescheduled for Tuesday (14/7/2026). According to Sigit, based on the report from Icha’s family, there are four reported individuals, and the joint investigation team is still working intensively to examine a number of witnesses.
