Three top forestry officials replaced

JAKARTA (JP): Minister of Forestry and Plantations Sumahadi has replaced three of the seven officials in the ministry's top echelon.

Sumahadi installed yesterday Soebagjo Hadisepoetro as director general of inventory and forest land use, the position he vacated after being appointed minister in March.

The newly appointed director generals include Harsono and Harnanto H. Martosiswojo, all career officials in the ministry.

Harsono was appointed as the director general of reforestation and reclamation and Harnanto as director general of forest utilization.

Harnanto replaced Titus Sarijanto, who was appointed to Sumahadi's staff of experts, while Soebagjo filled Sumahadi's former position.

Harsono replaced Hendarsun S. Sanusiputra who has retired.

Top echelon officials such as Soemarsono, Oetomo and Hariadi Dharmawan retained their jobs respectively as the director general of forest protection and nature preservation, the ministry's secretary-general and inspector general.

The minister also appointed yesterday Bambang Soegiarto as secretary to the director general of plantations; Achmad Mangga Barani as chief of the general affairs bureau; Siswanto Projosaputro as director of reforestation; and Suprayitno as secretary to the ministry's inspectorate general.

Other new appointees included Soesatyo Arjoyuwono as the head of the ministry's education and training division and Haryono Suroso as head of the ministry's public relations division.

The minister also appointed Suwardi and B. Edi Wiyoto respectively as secretary to the director general of forest protection and nature preservation and secretary of the directorate general of forest utilization. (gis)
