Three TNI Soldiers Fall in Attack in Lebanon, Prabowo Strongly Condemns
President Prabowo Subianto has expressed condolences over the deaths of three TNI soldiers in the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Lebanon (UNIFIL). Prabowo condemned the incident that led to the loss of the TNI members.
“The Indonesian nation mourns the passing of three TNI soldiers in their noble duty as UN peacekeeping forces in Lebanon,” said Prabowo in his Instagram post, as seen on Sunday (5/4/2026).
In the post, Prabowo included a photo of paying respects to the coffins of the fallen soldiers. Prabowo also shared a moment of shaking hands with the families of the TNI soldiers during the laying ceremony at the VIP Lounge of Terminal 3 at Soekarno-Hatta Airport on Saturday (4/4).
“We, fellow countrymen and compatriots, strongly condemn every heinous act that destroys peace and causes the death of our nation’s finest soldiers, Major Inf (Posthumous) Zulmi Aditya Iskandar, Staff Sergeant (Posthumous) M. Nur Ichwan, Corporal (Posthumous) Farizal Rhomadhon,” Prabowo emphasised.
Prabowo stated that the state is present to honour the services of heroes. He stressed that the state will safeguard the honour of the nation’s soldiers.
“The state will always be present to honour the services of our heroes, safeguard the honour of our soldiers, and ensure that their sacrifices are never forgotten,” he explained.
“Let us continue the spirit and determination to maintain peace, and give no room to anyone who seeks to divide our unity and harmony as a nation,” he added.
Previously, President Prabowo farewelled the remains of the three soldiers who fell in the UN peacekeeping mission in Lebanon (UNIFIL). The laying ceremony for the three remains took place at the VIP Lounge of Terminal 3 at Soekarno-Hatta Airport on Saturday (4/4).
The families’ tears broke as the coffins were aligned during the laying ceremony. The families were also seen embracing the TNI soldiers’ coffins.
The family members were comforted by the on-duty soldiers. They then sat in front of each respective family member’s coffin.
The three soldiers who fell are Captain Inf Zulmi Aditya Iskandar, Staff Sergeant Muhammad Nur Ikhwan, and Corporal Farizal Rhomadhon.
