Three TNI Soldiers Face Interim Ruling Hearing in State-Owned Bank Branch Head Murder Case on 15 April
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Military Court II-08 will hold an interim ruling hearing in the case of the murder of the Head of Branch (Kacab) of a state-owned bank, Mohammad Ilham Pradipta, on Wednesday (15/4/2026). The defendants’ legal counsel, for Serka Mochamad Nasir, Kopda Feri Heriyanto, and Serka Franky Yari, have already read out their exceptions on Monday (13/4/2026). “In essence, the legal counsel’s arguments in the exceptions state that the indictment against you is not meticulous, unclear, and incomplete, especially regarding the status of Defendant III, including the suspect determination not based on two valid pieces of evidence,” said the Chief Judge of the Panel, Colonel Chk Fredy Ferdian Isnartanto, during the hearing at the Jakarta Military Court II-08 on Monday. “In this regard, the legal counsel requests that the exceptions be accepted, the indictment declared null or at least inadmissible, and the case costs borne by the state. We leave it to the Military Prosecutor to respond to these exceptions from the legal counsel,” the Judge continued. The panel of judges then asked the Military Prosecutor to provide a response to the exceptions. “Ready, can it be this afternoon? After the break, can it be done?” Judge Fredy asked the Military Prosecutor. “With permission, if allowed, we request it on 15 April 2026, Wednesday,” replied Military Prosecutor Major Chk Wasinton Marpaung. “Yes, hopefully the panel of judges can issue the interim ruling in the afternoon. So that on 20 April, Monday, if the exceptions are rejected in the interim ruling, we can proceed directly to examining the witnesses,” Judge Fredy added. Fredy explained that the acceleration of the trial is due to the limited period for handling the case against the defendants. He stated that if the exceptions are accepted, the panel will await the next steps from the prosecutor, whether to redraft the indictment or not. “If the exceptions are accepted, then on 20 April we will wait for the decision on whether they want to redraft the indictment or what. We will see on 15 April, hopefully the interim ruling can be issued directly on 15 April,” Fredy clarified.
