Three-terminal strategy boosts container throughput by 13.3 percent
PT Terminal Teluk Lamong (TTL) stated that the effectiveness of its strategy to manage three terminals in an integrated manner—TPK Teluk Lamong, TPK Nilam and TPK Berlian—has boosted productivity while strengthening logistics connectivity, driving container traffic growth of 13.3 percent in July 2026 year-on-year (yoy).
President Director of PT Terminal Teluk Lamong David Pandapotan Sirait said container traffic at the three terminals was recorded at 1,753,203 TEUs, up 13.3 percent compared with the same period last year of 1,547,561 TEUs.
“This is a positive performance with the highest container throughput record,” he said in Surabaya, East Java, Thursday.
David said the growth was driven by an increase in international and domestic container flows, the addition of shipping services, optimisation of service networks, and improved loading and unloading productivity at the three terminals.
TPK Teluk Lamong recorded the highest growth of 23.6 percent with throughput reaching 644,432 TEUs from 521,451 TEUs a year earlier, supported by an increase in international container flows and the arrival of two new services that strengthen TPK Teluk Lamong’s connectivity with global shipping networks.
The first service is the CSE Service through a joint slot scheme between COSCO and OOCL with an average load of around 1,200 TEUs per call, while the second is the SCJX/SIX Service through a joint slot between GSL and XPF with an average load of around 1,100 TEUs per call.
International performance was also strengthened by 22 international ad hoc calls up to July 2026, which contributed an additional volume of 14,020 TEUs.
Meanwhile, TPK Nilam recorded throughput of 321,604 TEUs, up around 19.6 percent from 268,852 TEUs a year earlier, mainly from increased domestic container activity, including the Meratus service to Kendari and the Tanto service to Ambon.
TPK Berlian also showed positive performance, recording throughput of 787,167 TEUs, up around 4 percent from 757,258 TEUs a year earlier, supported by optimisation of the berthing window and readiness of loading and unloading equipment in the form of 15–16 Harbour Mobile Crane (HMC) units and one Container Crane (CC) unit.
