Three Suspects in Rp 1.2 Billion Embezzlement from Vilmei Face Five Years in Prison
Bekasi City Police have named three people as suspects in the alleged embezzlement of Rp 1.28 billion belonging to content creator Vilmei. Police are now investigating the motive behind the theft of the money by the suspects.
“(The motive for the theft) is still being investigated and corroborated between witness statements and between suspects with the existing evidence,” said Bekasi City Police Chief Commissioner Putu Kholis Aryana to reporters on Sunday (30/8/2026).
The three suspects are charged under Article 488 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code (the new KUHP) regarding the criminal act of embezzlement with aggravating circumstances due to an employment or professional relationship. The suspects face five years in prison or a maximum fine of Rp 500 million.
“(The suspects are charged under) Article 488 of the KUHP,” he said.
The three suspects are Z, an employee of Vilmei; a man with the initial A, Z’s boyfriend; and a woman with the initial L, who played a role in helping to hold the proceeds of the crime. All three have now been detained.
“The suspects have been detained,” said Commissioner Putu Kholis.
Previously, influencer Vilmei reported the alleged embezzlement of Rp 1.28 billion. She posted about it on her personal Instagram account.
Vilmei uploaded a video while searching for the alleged perpetrator. She held evidence of money withdrawals from her account.
“Today I am sad, very dizzy. One of my employees took Rp 1,282,915,000, one of those who are here,” Vilmei said on her personal account on Tuesday (25/8).
The former girlfriend of Willy Salim gathered eight employees who often handle her TikTok account. Initially, Vilmei asked for someone to confess rather than her having to make accusations.
“This was taken from my TikTok account money, which I had never, I had never touched at all since I started creating content. It has been 7 years and I have never touched it. Only around one million was left. When I wanted to pay for food, the remaining balance was only Rp 1 million,” said Vilmei.
