Three suspects in Katingan police attack arrested in Samarinda
Three suspects in the attack on members of the Katingan Police Resort have been arrested in Samarinda, East Kalimantan. The suspects, identified by their initials B, P, and B, arrived at the National Police Hospital in Jakarta on Thursday night for a medical examination following their capture. “Tonight, the Narcotics Crime Directorate arrested the perpetrators of the police killings in Katingan. These three suspects were arrested in Samarinda,” said Commissioner Kelly L, an officer from the Narcotics Crime Directorate of the Criminal Investigation Agency. Kelly explained that the suspects had different roles, with one identified as a drug dealer. The arrests were made after the suspects resisted officers. The attack occurred during a drug enforcement operation in Tumbang Kalemei Village, Central Katingan District, resulting in the deaths of three police officers. Authorities had previously arrested two other men, identified as Y and L, in the Katingan area in connection with the case. Investigators are continuing to probe the possibility of additional suspects being involved.
