Three Suspects Arrested for Attacking Officers in Katingan, Central Kalimantan

The Katingan Police have arrested three perpetrators of an attack on personnel from the Katingan Police Narcotics Investigation Unit during a drug raid in Tumbang Kalemei Village, Katingan Tengah District, Central Kalimantan. Previously, police had already arrested two suspects with the initials R and S, also known as A. Most recently, police arrested another suspect with the initial N. “Those who have been detained are N, R and S,” said Katingan Police Chief AKBP Dodik Hartono when contacted on Monday (6/7). Dodik revealed that the three suspects are believed to have been involved in the attack on members of the Katingan Police Narcotics Unit, which resulted in the deaths of three police officers. “They attacked with machetes and participated,” he said. Dodik stated that some of the three have already been named as suspects. However, Dodik did not provide detailed explanations. “Some are suspects, some are still under further investigation,” he said. Furthermore, Dodik conveyed that the police are also still pursuing a methamphetamine dealer with the initial B. “Yes (still in pursuit),” he said. The raid on a suspected methamphetamine dealer in Tumbang Kalemei Village, Katingan Regency, occurred in the early hours of Thursday (2/7). During the operation, officers allegedly faced resistance from a number of people carrying sharp weapons. In the incident, Aipda Yudhi Perdana Putra was killed in the line of duty. Bripda Nopandri Ramadhana and Aiptu Sumaryanto were found dead in the Katingan River after being reported missing.
