Three Students in Central Lombok Burned by a Friend, One Dies

As reported by detikBali on Thursday, 4 June 2026, the video shows the victims crying in pain while displaying burns on several parts of their bodies, which were bandaged at the hospital. The voices of family members comforting the victims can also be heard.

The head of the Child Protection Agency (LPA) in Mataram, Joko Jumadi, confirmed the incident. He stated that the incident occurred in November 2025, but it was only revealed after the video went viral on social media.

“The incident at the Islamic boarding school occurred in November 2025. I only found out after the video went viral now,” said Joko.

Based on initial information he received, there were three students who were victims. They were allegedly doused with fuel before being set on fire by a fellow student. As a result of the incident, two victims suffered serious burns, while one other victim died.

“There are three victims. Two suffered burns and one died,” he said.
