Three student demonstrations in Jakarta today; beware of traffic hotspots.

JAKARTA — Three demonstrations are scheduled to take place in Central Jakarta on Friday, 22 May 2026. Public Relations Section Head of the Central Jakarta Metropolitan Police Resort, Iptu Erlyn Sumantri, said the first demonstration would begin at 10:00 WIB in front of the National Nutrition Agency building on Jalan Kebon Sirih, Menteng. The second demonstration is scheduled for 13:00 WIB on Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, Gambir, by the Indonesian Anti-Corruption Students movement. To safeguard the protests, 725 joint police personnel have been deployed to Central Jakarta. He also urged the public to avoid areas around the demonstrations to anticipate traffic congestion.
