Jakarta – PT KAI Commuter has forecast that Bogor, Rangkasbitung and Jakarta Kota stations will become the busiest stops for passengers during the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri holiday period in 2026.

According to Karina Amandadi, Vice President Corporate Secretary at PT KAI Commuter, speaking at Juanda Station in Central Jakarta on Wednesday, congestion at these three stations will occur as public visits to tourist destinations increase.

“Looking at passenger volume data from 2025, we are assuming similar conditions will occur. The busy stations will be Bogor, then Rangkasbitung, Jakarta Kota. These are stations that serve as tourism destinations,” she said.

Typically, Karina noted, passenger congestion becomes visible one day after the first day of the Eid holiday.

“Usually, when the public needs to travel for tourism, they start moving from H+1 after the first day of Eid,” she explained.

“For congestion projections, since this falls under holiday criteria, congestion typically begins after 10 a.m. starting from the second day of Eid,” Karina added.

To anticipate passenger congestion, KAI Commuter has prepared arrangements in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the holiday period.

“We have prepared SOP for passenger flow management. So if there are passenger queues, we can manage them optimally without compromising comfort or safety for users,” she said.

During this year’s Eid transport season, KAI Commuter will operate 1,149 journeys daily in the Jabodetabek region, Merak and surrounding areas, including journeys to Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Soetta).

“KAI Commuter is providing transport capacity of 50,244,436 passengers or four per cent more than last year’s capacity,” Karina said.

With total transport capacity reaching 47,059,996, she said it is forecast that 18,972,445 passengers will use the Jabodetabek Commuter Line.

“This figure represents a one per cent increase from the number of users during last year’s Eid transport season,” Karina stated.

In addition to Jabodetabek, KAI Commuter is also optimising the Basoetta and Merak Commuter Line services.

Daily, 70 Basoetta Commuter Line journeys are available with a total transport capacity of 415,616, and it is projected that 145,963 passengers will travel to the airport for the holiday exodus.
