Three Sekolah Rakyat Win Top 100 Excellence Award 2026

Three Sekolah Rakyat have won awards at the TOP 100 BUMD, Education, Leader, BPR Excellence Award 2026 event held in Surabaya, East Java. The three schools are Sekolah Rakyat Terintegrasi (SRT) 49 Sumenep, Sekolah Rakyat Menengah Atas (SRMA) 25 Lamongan, and Sekolah Rakyat Menengah Pertama (SRMP) 29 Pamekasan. SRT 49 Sumenep received the ‘Excellent Junior High School with Zero Waste Economic System and Food Security of The Year 2026’ award. This recognition acknowledges the school’s success in implementing a zero-waste-based economic system and strengthening innovative, sustainable food security. SRMP 29 Pamekasan received the ‘The Most Highly Recommended Junior High School With Excellent Literacy Digital Program Of The Year 2026’ award. This achievement demonstrates the school’s efforts to develop a superior, creative, and adaptive digital literacy culture in response to technological developments in education. SRMA 25 Lamongan received the ‘The Most Inspiring School in Studentpreneurship and Sustainable Food Innovation of The Year 2026’ award. This award is tangible proof of the school’s success in fostering an entrepreneurial spirit among students and presenting inspiring sustainable food innovations. "This award encourages us to continue innovating and providing space for students to develop," said SRMA 25 Lamongan Head Anis Al Aminatuf in a written statement on Monday (15/6/2026). The TOP 100 BUMD, Education, Leader, BPR Excellence Award 2026 is a prestigious event that honours figures, institutions, regionally-owned enterprises (BUMD), educational institutions, banks, and leaders deemed to have made real contributions to development and improving the quality of public services. Anis further explained that at SRMA 25 Lamongan, students cultivate an entrepreneurial spirit through the Ketahanan Pangan dan Kewirausahaan Sremala (Kepak Sremala) programme initiated by the school. In this programme, students are invited to produce processed foods based on roselle plants such as syrup, jam, and drinks, traditional Lamongan snacks like wingko and jepit jeber, and turmeric tamarind drinks. Additionally, students also produce splash batik. "The children not only learn theory but are also involved in the process of planting, producing, and marketing products with guidance from teachers and education staff. We also teach them to calculate cost of goods sold and determine selling prices," Anis revealed. All products made by students are marketed in Lamongan and surrounding areas through several partners and are currently in the process of registering for halal certification from the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) and Home Industry Food (PIRT) certification. "Alhamdulillah, there have been several repeat orders. Based on buyer testimonials, the products are premium but affordably priced. Alhamdulillah, for the splash batik we have also received an order for 69 pieces, which is still being completed," said Anis. Income from sales will be used to purchase tools and materials, develop products, and meet student needs. "Going forward, we want to expand innovation, improve product quality, and strengthen marketing networks and partnerships, including when the halal and PIRT certificates are in hand, we will market on e-commerce," Anis stated. Separately, SRMP 29 Pamekasan Head Aisyah Minarni Mukti explained that the development of digital literacy culture among students is carried out through the Gerakan Literasi Membaca Menulis (Grasimanis) innovation. This programme encourages students to get used to reading and writing, including opening a digital literacy bootcamp. "Although simple, the important thing is that the children want to read, and from what they read, they are welcome to express it in writing, so they are accompanied by Indonesian language teachers and also a librarian team," said Aisyah. According to Aisyah, the students are quite enthusiastic about writing, with 50 stories written by students compiled into a book titled ‘Dari Terlantar Menuju Bersinar’. "So there are 50 stories plus my story. From those stories, I created a digital version using a flip book, so it can be enjoyed by parents. In fact, all the parents cried after reading the book," Aisyah explained. Aisyah said that alongside the digital literacy programme, students will also be invited to develop food entrepreneurship by making salted eggs from free-range chicken eggs. In addition to the awards given to the three Sekolah Rakyat, another proud achievement came from SRMA 24 Kediri, where one of its students, Mohammad Rifai, won a Gold Medal in a Science Competition.
