Three RI juniors reach semifinals

JAKARTA (JP): Henry Davin Teja and Al Imron reached the boy's
singles semis and Stella Sondang reached the girl's singles semis
in the 2000 Nabisco International Junior Tennis Championships at
the Senayan tennis complex.

Fourth seeded Henry defeated Indian Aravinda K. Prakash 6-3,
6-3 on Thursday to meet Australian Clint Letcher. Letcher upset
top seeded Eko Kurniawan of Indonesia 6-2, 6-7 (6-8), 7-5.

Friday's other semifinal will see Imron play third seed Rahul
Rajkhewa of India.

Imron, fifth seeded in the event, crushed second seeded
compatriot Eko Putra 6-2, 6-3 while Rajkhewa beat Malaysian
Dannio Yahya 6-4, 6-2.

In the girls side, Stella managed to overcome compatriot Linda
Arumsari 6-3, 2-6, 6-4 to meet Australian Tiffany Welford, who
beat Novianti Warsono of Indonesia 6-4, 7-6 (7-4).

Top seeded Hsieh Su-wei of Chinese Taipei had to sweat before
eliminating Indonesian Diana Julianto 6-3, 7-5. Hsieh will face
Indian Sasha Abraham, who beat Indonesian Sandy Gumulya 7-5, 2-6,
