Three rental units burned in Tegalega, Bogor Tengah district, Bogor City. A 1.4-year-old baby died and two adults were injured and taken to PMI Hospital, Bogor, said Bogor Tengah Police Chief Kompol Waluyo on Thursday evening, 5 March 2026. “The three victims are from the same family. We are still checking for full details,” he added.

M Ade Nugraha, head of Fire Suppression and Rescue at Bogor City Fire Department, said the fire was reported by residents shortly before Tarawih prayers, around 19:25 WIB. The blaze began in one of the rented houses and then spread to two neighbouring units. The cause is suspected to be a gas cylinder leak. “The affected properties were residential rental units; three units were burned. The source of the fire or the cause is suspected to be a gas cylinder leak,” he said.

“The injured victims are Ratna Julianti and Saud Marpaung. The deceased is Zaki, aged 1.4 years,” he added.

Ade noted that three fire units were deployed to the scene, with one rescue unit assisting. The fire was extinguished after about 20 minutes. “The firefighting lasted around 20 minutes. The victims were carried away to RS PMI by firefighters,” Ade said.
