Three Protests in Jakarta Today, Avoid Potential Traffic Hotspots
JAKARTA - Three demonstrations will take place in Central Jakarta on Monday (6/4/2026) today. The Head of Public Relations for the Central Jakarta Metro Police Resort, First Inspector Erlyn Sumantri, stated that the first demonstration will be held at 10:00 WIB in front of the Central Jakarta District Court, Kemayoran. “This morning, there will be a protest by members from the Work Unit Leadership of SPKEP PT Sari Keramindo Internasional, the Chemical, Energy, Mining, Oil, Natural Gas and General Workers’ Union,” Erlyn said in a written statement on Monday. The third protest will be held by BEM PTNU Nusantara at 13:00 WIB in front of the DPR/MPR building, Senayan. A total of 483 combined police personnel have been prepared to secure the demonstrations in Central Jakarta today. Meanwhile, traffic engineering at the protest sites will be carried out situationally, taking into account the number of participants on the ground. Erlyn advised the public to avoid the areas around the protests to anticipate traffic congestion. “Residents can look for other alternative routes while the protests are ongoing,” she said.
