Three prosecutors replaced, Kapoda Rawi regional company case remains unresolved
The Dompu District Prosecutor’s Office in West Nusa Tenggara has confirmed that the investigation into alleged financial mismanagement and capital participation at the regional company Perusda Kapoda Rawi for the 2007–2023 period is still ongoing.
Head of Intelligence at the Dompu Prosecutor’s Office, Danny Curia Novitawan, said on Wednesday that the case is one of the priorities for resolution because its handling has been underway for quite some time.
“The handling is on process and on progress. This case has been a long-standing backlog for years, with three successive chief prosecutors having been replaced and investigators transferred,” he said.
Danny said investigators will again request statements from a number of witnesses to clarify the roles of each party and the use of capital participation funds from the Dompu Regency Government in the management of Perusda Kapoda Rawi.
“We are still investigating, especially the roles of each witness and other matters related to the case,” he said.
The investigation is being conducted to determine the use of capital participation funds, business management mechanisms, financial accountability, and contributions or dividends to the regional government as the capital owner.
Investigators are also still awaiting the results of an investigative audit by the NTB Provincial Inspectorate as one of the materials in the process of calculating state financial losses if the investigation finds any losses.
“If there are documents or statements that still need to be completed, we will request them again from the relevant parties,” he said.
Danny said the investigation is being carried out to ensure the use of capital participation, management of company assets and business activities, and the roles of each party based on evidence and statements obtained by investigators.
A number of parties who have been questioned include former Dompu Regency Regional Secretary Gatot Gunawan Perantauan Putra, Director of Perusda Kapoda Rawi Nasrul Hanif, and former Assistant I of the Dompu Regency Regional Secretariat Burhanudin.
Investigators have also conducted searches and seized a number of documents related to the management of Perusda Kapoda Rawi.
Previously, based on an independent auditor’s report from the Khairunnas Public Accounting Firm dated 11 January 2024, there were indications of company financial misuse amounting to Rp3.241 billion.
The report was the result of an audit of the sources and use of funds of Perusda Kapoda Rawi Dompu Regency for the period 1 June 2007 to 30 June 2023.
The use of these funds included the management of the Manggelewa petrol station of approximately Rp10 billion and bailout funds for maize purchases of approximately Rp9 billion when the commodity price experienced a decline.
In addition, investigators are examining the management of Wisma Praja and the swiftlet nest business in Hu’u District, which are part of the assets or business activities of Perusda Kapoda Rawi.
To date, the case remains at the investigation stage. The Dompu Prosecutor’s Office is still gathering statements and documents to determine whether or not a criminal offence has occurred and which parties can be held accountable based on valid evidence.
