Three police officers—Bripda MS, Brigpol KA and Brigpol DC—have been designated as suspects in illegal ammunition trafficking connected to the fatal shooting of a resident of Polewali Mandar Regency (Polman), West Sulawesi, whose body was discovered in his vehicle in 2025.

“Brigpol KA, also known as C, and Bripda MS have been elevated to the investigation stage and their status has been upgraded to suspects in separate case files,” stated AKP Budi Adi, Head of Criminal Investigation at Polman Police, in a written statement on Tuesday (10 March).

In this case, investigators had previously arrested five individuals, including police officer DC with the rank of Brigadier. “A number of those involved have been designated as suspects, namely IDY, K, NPP, MY, and Brigpol DC. Case files for each suspect have been submitted to prosecutors,” he explained.

Based on investigation results into the September shooting of Husain, Budi revealed the involvement of Brigpol DC, Brigpol KA and Bripda MS. “The investigation revealed that beginning in May 2025, IDY requested revolver ammunition from Brigpol DC. Brigpol DC obtained ammunition from Brigpol KA, also known as Cippe, and it was distributed through intermediary NPP, also known as K,” he stated.

Subsequently, in August 2025, MY ordered 20 rounds of ammunition from Bripda MS with instructions that the brass casings be retained. “Bripda MS then sent the ammunition via courier service from Mamuju Tengah to Polman,” he explained.

During the investigation process, Polman Police seized a revolver and ammunition calibre 38 and 9mm. “All evidence has undergone ballistic testing at Makassar’s Forensic Laboratory,” he said.

Meanwhile, Polman Police Chief AKBP Anjar Purwoko stressed that investigations would continue to completion. He also ensured that every party involved would be processed in accordance with the law and that public security would remain stable in Polewali Mandar Regency. “This case has drawn attention because it concerns public security. The case is being handled professionally, transparently, and accountably. Anyone proven to be involved will be processed according to the law,” Anjar said.
