Three people have died after exposure to a mysterious substance in New Mexico
Moscow (ANTARA) - Three people have died and a number of medical staff have been admitted to hospital after allegedly coming into contact with an unidentified substance in Mountainair, New Mexico, United States.
“Unfortunately, two people were found dead when officers arrived at the scene, and a third person from the house subsequently died,” said Mountainair Mayor Peter Nieto via a statement on social media, on Wednesday (20 May).
“At this time, there is no indication that the situation is spreading through the air. The incident is believed to be related to a substance that may transfer from one person to another,” he added.
He further said that several medical staff who had come into contact with the victims were subsequently taken to hospital. According to Nieto, some of them have been discharged, while others are beginning to show symptoms.
