Three Pakistani Warships Dock at Tanjung Priok: What's Happening?

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Three ships of the Pakistan Navy namely Pakistan Navy Ship (PNS) Taimur, the Hangor submarine, and PNS Aslat docked at Pier IKT ex-Presiden, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, on Tuesday (19 May 2026). ‘The arrival of this task force was also directly attended by Deputy Head of Mission of Pakistan Roshan Lal,’ said Commander Kodaeral III Rear Admiral TNI Uki Prasetia, quoted on Thursday (21 May 2026). Also present was Commander of the 18th Destroyer Squadron and Mission Commander, Commodore Omar Farooq SI(M), who was aboard the PNS Taimur. During their stay in Jakarta, the Pakistani crew will undertake several activities, including courtesy calls on senior TNI-AL officials, friendship sports matches with Jalasena personnel of Kodaeral III, and a diplomatic reception aboard the Pakistani warship. In addition, the crew are scheduled to undertake a city tour and participate in an open ship event for TNI personnel and the general public. ‘It is a strong symbol of the bilateral relationship. We hope the synergy between the Indonesian Navy and the Pakistan Navy will grow stronger, as well as serving as a positive cultural exchange for both nations,’ said Uki.
