Three Officers Who Intimidated Security Guard at Bundaran HI Violated Code of Ethics, West Java Police Promise Sanctions

The West Java Regional Police (Polda Jabar) has confirmed it will impose sanctions on three of its members who intimidated security guard Fiktor Harefa at the Bundaran HI roundabout in Jakarta. Polda Jabar has also apologised to the security guard for the officers’ arrogance. Head of Public Relations for Polda Jabar, Commissioner Hendra Rochmawan, conveyed an apology to the security guard at Bundaran HI for the arrogant and inappropriate treatment by the three members of Polda Jabar. Although a reconciliation has taken place, it does not eliminate the sanctions against the three officers. ‘The reconciliation between the parties does not eliminate the code of ethics sanctions against the three members, Ipda DG, Bripka BS, and Briptu RPW,’ he said, quoting from a statement on the Instagram account of Polda Jabar’s Internal Affairs Division (Propam) on Saturday (25/7/2026). Hendra stated that the Polda Jabar Propam Division had examined the three officers. The results found sufficient evidence of violations of the police professional code of ethics as stipulated in National Police Regulation Number 7 of 2022. ‘The examination has been conducted and the results found sufficient evidence of violating the police professional code of ethics,’ he said. He stated that the findings will be followed up through the code of ethics process and a hearing of the police professional code of ethics. The force is committed and consistent in taking firm and transparent action against any violations committed by its members. Previously, it was known that the problem began when an Alphard car ran a red light at a pelican crossing in the Bundaran HI area, specifically on Jalan MH Thamrin, on Wednesday (22/7/2026). Fiktor, who was about to cross, spontaneously hit the window of the Alphard. The driver, who did not accept this, eventually stopped. Fiktor then approached the vehicle to resolve the matter.
