Police have disclosed that three of the seven suspects arrested in the case of confining employees of a printing company in Central Jakarta are related. The three siblings are identified as MML, AYL, and CML. “There are some who are related. If we look here, it is MML, AYL, and CML. However, the ownership belongs to MML,” said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Commissioner Reynold EP Hutagalung, during a press conference at the Central Jakarta Metro Police Headquarters on Friday (3/7/2026). Investigators from the Central Jakarta Metro Police have named seven individuals as suspects in the case. “The suspects have been detained at the Central Jakarta Metro Police detention centre,” Reynold stated. Of the seven suspects, five are men and two are women, namely CML and II. All seven are currently undergoing intensive questioning. The suspects, identified as AI, S, AYL, and CML, were detained on Saturday (27/6), while MML, NHJ, and II have been in custody since Sunday (28/6). In this case, the seven suspects are charged with alleged criminal acts of extortion and threats, and/or deprivation of liberty and coercion, and/or persecution under Article 482 and/or Article 466 and/or Article 471 of Law No. 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code. For context, the three victims were confined for 21 days after being accused of stealing printing plates worth IDR 250 million.
