A man has gone viral after allegedly harassing a Pomeranian dog in the Penjaringan area of North Jakarta. Police have disclosed the latest developments in the case of suspected animal abuse. In video footage circulating on social media, the incident was narrated as occurring at a cafe. The man, a visitor, was initially playing with the dog. The perpetrator, wearing a red shirt, reportedly exposed his genitals in front of the dog named ‘Sissy’ and then committed an indecent act amounting to harassment of the animal. The dog’s owner caught the perpetrator in the act and stopped the incident, subsequently taking him to the Penjaringan Police Station.

Penjaringan Police Chief AKBP Agta Wijaya stated that the reported individual has been examined and the investigation is ongoing. Police suspect the perpetrator has a sexual deviation. “From the actions taken, there is a suspicion that the perpetrator has a sexual deviation,” said Criminal Investigation Unit Head of Penjaringan Metro Police, AKP Sampson Sosa Hutapea. He explained that his team is still coordinating with psychiatrists and a mental hospital, as well as with the suspect’s family to schedule a psychiatric examination.

Police continue to investigate the motive behind the suspect’s actions, conducting witness examinations and CCTV analysis. The legal process is proceeding with preparations for prosecution under Article 337 of the Criminal Code, which carries a maximum penalty of one year in prison. Authorities are involving medical experts to conduct a psychiatric evaluation of the perpetrator.
