Three National Nutrition Agency Leaders Dismissed, Dasco: An Evaluation to Improve Public Service

The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, has urged the new leadership of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) to boost the institution’s governance performance without disrupting the delivery of nutritional services. This large-scale evaluation is seen as an initial step for the BGN to undergo internal restructuring.

“We hope that through this comprehensive evaluation, the BGN will improve itself and continue to serve the beneficiary communities. This change will certainly not affect the services that have been ongoing,” Dasco stated at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday, 2 June 2026.

Furthermore, the House of Representatives expressed appreciation to President Prabowo Subianto for his swift action in evaluating the Head of the BGN and his two deputies. This firm measure demonstrates that the government is highly sensitive and responsive to evolving aspirations, including those from the public, beneficiaries, cross-ministerial coordination, and official input from the DPR.

The Daily Chairman of the Gerindra Party assessed that internal improvements within the BGN are urgent to ensure that national strategic programmes do not stall. Despite the leadership transition from old to new officials, public service functions must be ensured to continue normally and, in fact, become even more proactive.

The DPR holds high expectations that the new BGN leadership can immediately address logistics and distribution issues. Dasco emphasised that the focus of post-evaluation improvements must result in equitable access to nutritional guarantees, particularly for regions that have historically been difficult to reach.

“Our hope is that the goal of providing services, especially to the 3T areas (underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost regions), can be realised immediately,” said Dasco.

Previously, President Prabowo Subianto officially dismissed Dadan Hindayana from his position as Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) on Tuesday, 2 June 2026. In addition to Dadan, the Head of State also removed Lodewyk Pusung and Sony Sanjaya from their roles as Deputy Heads of the BGN.

“Mr. Lodewyk Pusung as Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency. The third, Mr. Sony Sanjaya as Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency,” stated Minister of the State Secretariat Prasetyo Hadi during a press conference at the Presidential Palace complex, Jakarta.
