Three names in Ponorogo Deputy Regent race begin SKCK processing
Ponorogo, East Java (ANTARA) - The Ponorogo Resort Police in East Java have recorded three residents applying for Police Record Certificates (SKCK) as part of the requirements for candidacy for the position of Deputy Regent of Ponorogo.
The Acting Head of Administrative Services for the Intelligence and Security Unit of the Ponorogo Police, Aiptu Agung Wibowo, stated in Ponorogo on Tuesday that the three applicants are Barno, M. Hasim, and Nyoto Wiyono.
“For the time being, there are three applicants submitting SKCK requests for the purpose of prospective deputy regent candidates,” he said.
Barno is the Head of Bringinan Village in Jambon District, while M. Hascent is an advocate from Bajang Village, Mlarak District. Meanwhile, Nyoto Wiyono is the former Inspector of the Ponorogo Regency Inspectorate.
Agung noted that all applications were submitted in August 2026, with Nyoto Wiyono being the first applicant, followed by Barno and M. Hasim.
“The submissions came in during August. The first was Nyoto Wiyono, followed by Barno, and then M. Hasim,” he said.
According to him, SKCK processing is currently conducted online. However, one of the applicants visited the Ponorogo Police Resort in person due to difficulties encountered during the registration process. Officers subsequently provided assistance until the document was successfully issued.
Of the three issued SKCKs, two have been collected by the applicants, while one document remains at the Ponorogo Police Resort.
“Some have been collected, and some have not,” he said.
Agung emphasised that the issuance of SKCKs is carried out according to procedure and is not related to determining anyone as a candidate for the Deputy Regent of Ponorogo.
“As long as it follows the procedure, all SKCK applications can be issued,” he said.
The race for the Ponorogo Deputy Regent position has emerged alongside the leadership transition process following the legal proceedings involving the inactive Regent of Ponorogo, Sugiri Sancoko. Currently, the Deputy Regent of Ponorogo, Lisdyarita, is performing the duties and powers of the Acting Regent of Ponorogo.
The filling of the deputy regent position will take place once the position is definitively vacant and will follow the mechanism prescribed by legislation, including the election process through the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD).
