Three nabbed for drug dealing

TANGERANG: Several undercover police officers from Tangerang Precinct Police arrested three men allegedly involved in marijuana trafficking at the house of one of the suspects, in Telaga Sari housing complex, Cikupa, on Sunday evening.

Deputy chief of police detectives Insp. Kustanto said the police had seized 5 kilograms of marijuana from the suspects, identified as Jamaludin, 32, Chaerudin, 20, and Faisal, 20, who all hailed from Aceh Naggoroe Darussalam.

According to Kustanto, after receiving a tip-off from locals, one of the police officers pretended that he wanted to buy a large amount of marijuana and contacted Jamaludin for an appointment.

Jamaludin agreed to meet the police officer near the latter's house at 8 p.m on Sunday.

He said the suspect appeared, accompanied by the undercover policeman, at his house to view the marijuana. Several other police officers, who had been waiting outside the house, arrested Jamaludin along with his two accomplices, without meeting any resistance.

At the police headquarters, Jamaludin said he had bought the marijuana from a man in Jakarta at a price of Rp 1.1 million per kilogram (kg) and intended to resell it at Rp 1.2 million per kg. --JP
