A team from the Mobile Brigade Corps (Brimob) of the Metro Jaya Police arrested three individuals suspected of motorcycle theft during a patrol in the Pancoran area of South Jakarta in the early hours of Saturday. Upon searching them, the suspects were found to be carrying narcotics.

Based on the public tip-off, officers proceeded to check the location and successfully apprehended the three suspected perpetrators. Brimob personnel then conducted a search of the suspects. During the search, officers found five pills suspected to be ecstasy and a smoking device believed to be used for narcotics abuse.
‘Officers secured a number of items of evidence, including two motorcycles, two sling bags, five mobile phones, three wallets, five pills suspected to be ecstasy, one pod, two bottles of liquid, one empty cartridge, one cartridge containing liquid suspected to be etomidate, and one smoking device suspected to be used for narcotics abuse,’ he stated.
Henik said that night patrols are continuously being intensified as a preventive measure to deter public order disturbances, particularly street crime and motorcycle theft. He confirmed the three suspects were taken to Tebet Police Station for further examination.
‘This patrol activity is part of our effort to provide a sense of security to the public. Every piece of information from residents is immediately followed up by personnel in the field,’ said Henik. ‘We urge the public to continue playing an active role in providing information to officers if they see or are aware of potential public order disturbances in their neighbourhood,’ he continued.
