Three motorbike thieves arrested during Blora dangdut event linked to 10 crime scenes across Central Java
A motorcycle theft gang that targeted motorcycles left by their owners during a sedekah bumi ceremony in Ngumbul Village, Todanan Subdistrict, Blora Regency, Central Java, in April has been apprehended. The three thieves are known to have operated at 10 locations across Central Java.
“During the investigation, three suspects were apprehended after allegedly being involved in thefts at 10 crime scenes across various districts in Central Java,” said Todanan Police Chief Iptu Suhari.
Suhari stated the suspects were arrested through coordination between Blora Police Residency’s Mobile Brigade (Resmob), Rembang Police Residency’s Resmob team, and the Central Java Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Jatanras). One suspect was apprehended on Monday (25 May).
“As a result, early on Monday, 25 May 2026, officers apprehended the main suspect, Muhammad Sofii (27), a resident of Kayen Subdistrict, Pati Regency, at the Margotejo petrol station in Pati Regency,” he said.
Further investigation led to the arrest of two additional suspects: Surikan (41), a resident of Juwana Subdistrict, Pati Regency, and Muhsin Almusafiri (33), a resident of Kayen Subdistrict, Pati Regency.
Suhari explained that Sofii acted as the executor and seller of stolen vehicles, while Surikan monitored the area and Muhsin assisted in transporting and fencing the stolen vehicles.
“The suspects confessed to committing motor vehicle thefts at 10 crime scenes spread across several districts in Central Java,” he added.
