Three Ministries Slash Foreign Worker Permit Processing Time to Five Days

The government has reduced the duration of the permit process for Foreign Workers (TKA) to accelerate the flow of investment in the national industrial sector, which still requires foreign experts, on Wednesday (09/09/2026), as reported by Detik Finance.

This acceleration measure was formalised through the signing of two Joint Decrees (SKB) by the Minister of Manpower Yassierli, the Minister of Immigration and Correctional Services Agus Andrianto, and the Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM Rosan P. Roeslani in Jakarta.

Through this agreement, the Online Single Submission (OSS) system owned by the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/BKPM will be directly integrated with the SIAPkerja application of the Ministry of Manpower and the All Indonesia application of the Ministry of Immigration and Correctional Services.

The process of managing foreign worker permit documents, which previously took a long time, is now targeted to be fully completed within five working days. If the issuance of permits exceeds the agreed timeframe, the system will issue them automatically according to the applicable mechanism.

“The plan is for implementation to begin at the end of this month; I was informed that, God willing, the results of our agreement between the three of us will be operational by the end of this month,” said Rosan P. Roeslani, Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM.

This regulatory simplification is expected to drive the growth of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) while strengthening the national manufacturing and downstreaming ecosystem.

“Because we see that in several industrial sectors, the need for foreign workers is still required. And the hope is that this can provide a transfer of knowledge and transfer of technology to our human resources,” explained Rosan P. Roeslani, Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM.

Despite the reduction in bureaucratic procedures, the Ministry of Manpower ensures that the functions of supervision and monitoring regarding the operational use of foreign workers in the field will continue to be strictly maintained.

“God willing, we are confident that in its implementation, it will provide more effective and efficient services and results,” stated Yassierli, Minister of Manpower.
