Jakarta (ANTARA) — Three Mikrotrans services—JAK 48A, JAK 50 and JAK 79—have had their routes changed and new stops added as Transjakarta seeks to extend its coverage and make travel around Jakarta easier for residents.

Ayu Wardhani, head of public relations and corporate social responsibility at PT Transportasi Jakarta, said in an official statement in Jakarta on Saturday that the JAK 48A route (Tebet Station–Karet) had been modified to run along Jalan Tebet Utara Dalam, Jalan Tebet Raya and Jalan Prof. Dr. Soepomo (Saharjo).

On the route towards Karet, the new stops run from SMPN 115 to Pal Batu 1. Towards Tebet Station, stops are served from Jembatan Merah 1 to Wisma Laena Tebet.

The JAK 50 route (Puri Kembangan–Kalideres) has also been modified to give residents direct access to Bojong Indah Station and Bojong Indah Market. In both directions, the new stops run from Bojong Indah Station to Sekolah Al Mukhlisin.

Towards Puri Kembangan, stops are served from Sekolahan Puri Kembangan to SLB Pangudi Luhur.

Meanwhile, the JAK 79 Mikrotrans service (Rawa Buaya–Komplek Polri Portek) has been rerouted to serve the area around Rawa Buaya Terminal, the Transjakarta Rawa Buaya depot, Jalan KH. A. Wahab I, Jalan Darma Wanita IV, the opposite side of the Rawa Buaya–Bojong Raya junction, and the Blue Bird Puri 2 depot. Its starting point is now Rawa Buaya Terminal.

Ayu said the additional bus stops and route changes were intended to provide easier, better-integrated access to important destinations, including residential areas, social activity centres and mass transit hubs.

“These Mikrotrans route changes reflect our ongoing commitment to providing connectivity that is increasingly reliable and accessible to the public,” Ayu said.

She added that by improving integration with mass transit hubs and community activity centres, Transjakarta hoped Mikrotrans would become a safe, comfortable and efficient choice for residents’ daily journeys.
