Three men in Pandeglang, Banten, were caught red-handed dumping rubbish indiscriminately on the shoulder of AMD East Cross Road in Kabayang Village, Pandeglang. The trio face a fine of Rp 200 million.

“They violated Perda No 4 of 2008 on K3 (cleanliness, beauty, and order), facing a sanction of Rp 200 million,” said the Head of the Operations and Crowd Control Section of the Pandeglang Satpol PP, Ucu Sukarya, in his statement on Sunday (5/4/2026).

Ucu said the incident was uncovered based on reports from residents who felt disturbed by the illegal waste dumping activities in their area. From those reports, Satpol PP and locals managed to catch the perpetrators in the act.

“At the time of the incident, they were caught in the act while dumping rubbish,” he said.

Ucu stated that based on the perpetrators’ confession, they brought one truckload of rubbish from the Jakarta and Tangerang areas. According to him, the dumped waste consisted of household waste and coconut waste.

“From Jakarta and Tangerang. Coconut waste, restaurant waste, household waste, goat bones, there were even nappies,” he said.

Ucu said that each time they dumped rubbish in Pandeglang, the three men received a payment of Rp 50,000. However, he suspected they might receive more than Rp 50,000.

“The confession is Rp 50,000. It’s possible it’s more than that from there, could be hundreds of thousands,” he said.

Ucu assured that the three locals from Pandeglang would be processed in accordance with the applicable regulations. This is done to provide a deterrent effect and as an example to the public.

“The three have been examined at the Pandeglang Satpol PP office. Based on the leadership’s orders, they will be processed in accordance with the Perda as an example,” said Ucu.

Furthermore, Ucu also highlighted the phenomenon of rubbish scattered throughout the Pandeglang area. He called on relevant parties to collaborate in handling the issue.

“For the urban area, synergise with relevant OPDs, rubbish piling up in markets, cooperate with Satpol PP for enforcement, next we must synergise,” he concluded.
