Three Masterminds of Bank Manager Kidnapping-Murder Sentenced to 10-13 Years in Prison

Jakarta, VIVA – The panel of judges at the East Jakarta District Court (PN) has handed down criminal sentences against three intellectual actors behind the alleged kidnapping and murder of a bank branch manager, M Ilham Pradipta.

At the verdict hearing held on Monday, 20 July 2026, the defendants were sentenced to between 10 and 13 years in prison.

The three defendants tried in this case were Candy alias Ken, Dwi Hartono, and Antonius Aditia Maharjuni.

The presiding judge, Juandra, stated that all three had been legally proven to have committed a crime resulting in the loss of the victim’s life.

“We declare that the first defendant Candy alias Ken, the second defendant Dwi Hartono, and the third defendant Antonius Aditia Maharjuni have been legally and convincingly proven guilty of the criminal act of participating in taking another person’s life,” said presiding judge Juandra as he read out the verdict.

The judge explained that defendants Candy alias Ken and Dwi Hartono received heavier sentences, whilst Antonius Aditia was given a lighter punishment.

“We sentence the first defendant Candy alias Ken and the second defendant Dwi Hartono each to 13 years’ imprisonment, and the third defendant Antonius Aditia Maharjuni to 10 years’ imprisonment,” he stated.

In addition to custodial sentences, the three perpetrators were also ordered to pay restitution, or compensation.

For defendants Ken and Dwi Hartono, the panel of judges required both to pay restitution of Rp 1.2 billion each. If the money is not paid within 30 days, both must serve an additional (subsidiary) sentence of 2 years in prison.

Meanwhile, defendant Antonius Aditia was ordered to pay restitution amounting to Rp 750 million. As with his two accomplices, if he fails to settle the restitution within 30 days, his sentence will be extended by 1 year and 3 months.
