Three KRL Stations Predicted to Be Crowded During Eid 2026, Which Ones?
JAKARTA — PT KAI Commuter (KCI) has predicted that three electric train stations will experience heavy passenger congestion during Eid al-Fitr 2026.
Karina Amanda, VP Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter, stated that the three stations expected to be congested during Eid are Bogor Station, Rangkasbitung Station, and Jakarta Kota Station.
“Looking at passenger volume data from 2025, we are assuming similar conditions will occur. The crowded stations will be Bogor, then Rangkasbitung, and Jakarta Kota,” Karina said when met at Juanda Station, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (11 March 2026).
According to Karina, congestion at the three stations is expected to begin from the first day of Eid as people travel for holiday trips.
She continued that the KRL travel pattern during the Eid period will follow the regular daily travel pattern.
“We have already prepared standard operating procedures for managing passenger flow so that if there are passenger queues, they can be handled optimally without reducing the comfort or safety of passengers,” Karina said.
She assured that the headway (arrival interval) of KRL services during the Eid period will not change.
For the Jabodetabek KRL network, it is estimated that there will be 45 million passengers during the Eid transport period. This figure represents a 1.19 per cent increase compared to the Eid transport period in 2025.
Meanwhile, the Merak Commuter Line is expected to see an increase of approximately 1.3 per cent during the 2026 Eid transport period.
“For the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Commuter Line, with the addition of trains during this Eid transport period, we project an increase in passenger volume of around 3.1 per cent,” she added.
“For the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Commuter Line, we will operate 70 trains per day,” she said.
