Three killed in toll road collision

BANDUNG, West Java: Three people were killed instantly after their pickup collided with a bus on the Padaleunyi toll road in Bandung, West Java, on Monday.

The police identified two of the dead as Ujang Udin, 27, and Dede, 30, while the other victim had no identity card.

According to Guna, an official of turnpike operator PT Jasa Marga, the incident occurred because the pickup's driver fell asleep, lost control of his vehicle and collided head-on with the bus, which was traveling in the opposite direction.

None of the bus passengers were reported injured in the incident, but the bus driver, Wawang Rusmana, was detained by local police for further investigation into the case.

All of the fatalities were immediately rushed to Bandung's Hasan Sadikin General Hospital. --Antara
