Three killed in road accident

KLATEN, Central Java: Three people were burned to death
when a pick-up car they were driving in crashed into a bus in
Dukuh village, Jogonalan, near here, Thursday night.

The victims, whose ages range between 33 and 40, included the
driver of the car. They were all local residents.

A police officer said that the pick-up driver lost control of
the vehicle when it skidded on spilled diesel oil. At the same
time a bus coming from the opposite direction at high speed
slammed into the pick up and bulldozed it into the roadside in
flames.

After extinguishing the fire local people took the victims
away. Police said the bodies were so badly burned that it took a
long time to identify them. (16/har)
