Three Karangasem Regency Officials Promoted, Two Transferred

Three officials within the Karangasem Regency Government have received promotions, while two others have been transferred to new assignments by the Regent of Karangasem, I Gusti Putu Parwata (Gus Par).

The officials were inaugurated by Gus Par at the Wantilan of the Karangasem Regent’s Office on Monday (29/06/2026). In addition to high-level leadership positions, Gus Par also inaugurated supervisory and functional officials.

Gus Par stated that there are no longer any vacancies for heads of regional organisational units (OPD) following the inauguration. “I hope they can adapt quickly and always possess the innovation required to improve services to the community,” Gus Par expressed.

He explained that the mutation and rotation of positions are part of an organisational refreshment intended to build a governance system oriented towards public service, rather than merely performing administrative functions.

“Policies and programmes must side with the community through services that are easy, affordable, fast, humanist, inclusive, and truly beneficial,” said Gus Per.

Gus Par emphasised that the three promoted officials underwent an open selection process as part of the implementation of the merit system in civil servant (ASN) management. This process involved a professional and independent selection committee and was supervised by the Ombudsman.

Gus Par also urged the officials to establish democratic and humanist leadership to create a harmonious, productive, and dedicated working environment. He noted that collaboration with all stakeholders is key to enhancing government performance.

“I also emphasise to the inaugurated officials that, in addition to developing innovation, they must utilise technology and digitalisation to generate new, creative, and solution-oriented ideas, serving as role models in discipline and producing more optimal performance,” said Gus Par.

Furthermore, Gus Par reminded all civil servants not to neglect administrative and financial management aspects. He requested that every regional unit develop robust administrative standard operating procedures (SOP) as a preventative measure against future legal issues.

Promotions:

• I Made Wiguna: Previously Head of Water Resources Division at the Public Works and Housing Office (PUPR) Karangasem; now Head of the Environmental Office (DLH) Karangasem.

• Made Aditya Sugiharta: Previously Sub-district Head (Camat) of Abang, Karangasem; now Executive Head (Kalaksa) of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Karangasem.

• I Gusti Lanang Agung Wirawan: Previously Sub-district Head (Camat) of Karangasem; now Head of the Community and Village Empowerment Office (PMD) Karangasem.

Transfers:

• I Gede Loka Santika: Previously Head of the Office of Cooperatives, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Industry and Trade (Diskoperindag) Karangasem; now Head of the Transportation Office (Dishub) Karangasem.

• Cokorda Surya Dharma: Previously Head of the Transportation Office (Dishub) Karangasem; now Head of the Office of Cooperatives, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Industry and Trade (Diskoperindag) Karangasem.
