Three-in-one bothersome

From Bisnis Indonesia

The Jakarta city administration is now enforcing its three-in-
one policy that requires that a car must carry a minimum of three
passengers to be able to pass certain streets during certain
hours in the morning and afternoon.

Regarding this policy, I have had a bothersome experience
traveling in Jakarta.

It is understood that the slow lane in the street going from
Jl. Gatot Subroto towards Jl. Jend. Sudirman -- or to be exact in
the Semanggi Clover Bridge at the road bend right in front of
GKBI building -- has been closed to make it easy for the police
to watch vehicles entering Jl. Sudirman.

As a result, all cars must enter the fast lane in Jl.
Sudirman.

I was going to GKBI building but could not enter the building
because I had to enter the fast lane first before entering the
slow lane. The gate of GKBI building lies before the entrance to
the slow lane from the fast lane. Given this condition, I had to
enter BRI II building, which is close to GKBI building, before I
finally drove to GKBI building.

The closure of the way towards the slow lane of Jl. Sudirman
has also led to heavy congestion in the fast lane because all
cars have to take this lane.

Perhaps the police can continue monitoring vehicles entering
Jl. Sudirman without closing this slow lane from Jl. Gatot
Subroto towards Jl. Sudirman.
