Three Houses in Ciomas, Bogor Burned in Fire Believed Caused by Lit Cigarette Butt Discarded by a Person with a Mental Disorder

Three houses were completely burned in Ciomas, Bogor, West Java. The fire is suspected to have started when a man with a mental disorder discarded a lit cigarette butt carelessly and left the scene. Eyewitnesses said the flames originated from the dwelling occupied by the man with the mental disorder. The fire then rapidly engulfed nearby houses, causing a severe blaze. Residents promptly reported to the fire department for action. The blaze, which occurred around 12:05 WIB, was brought under control after three Bogor Regency Fire Department units were deployed to the site. There were no deaths or injuries.

‘After receiving the report, the team was dispatched to the location. The fire was quickly contained and did not spread to neighboring buildings. Firefighting proceeded without any obstacles and the fire was extinguished,’ said Yudi.
