Three-hour briefing at the Palace as Prabowo and ulama discuss global geopolitics
Jakarta — President Prabowo Subianto hosted a three-hour briefing with ulama and other religious figures at the Merdeka Palace complex in Jakarta on Thursday evening (5/3), discussing geopolitical conditions. The meeting, which took place at the Merdeka Palace from 20:00 WIB, saw the President stress the importance of maintaining national unity in the face of evolving geopolitical dynamics. “The meeting discussed developments in domestic geopolitics, essentially let us maintain unity,” said Zulkifli Hasan, the Coordinating Minister for Food Security, after accompanying the President to the gathering. He noted that the President outlined in detail developments in the global geopolitical situation and the importance of the unity of all elements of the nation in safeguarding the state. “What is most important is our unity to protect all our homeland and our people,” he said. Zulhas added that the President also explained, in detail, various international geopolitical developments, including conflicts involving the United States, Israel and Iran. However, he invited the ulama present to convey further details about the discussion. On that occasion, Prabowo broke fast with Rais Aam Miftachul Achyar, the General Chairman of Nahdlatul Ulama, Haedar Nashir, the General Chairman of Muhammadiyah, and Anwar Iskandar, the General Chairman of Majelis Ulama Indonesia. While breaking fast, Prabowo discussed with religious leaders on a range of strategic issues, from Lebaran holiday preparations domestically to developments in global geopolitical dynamics. The President also urged the ulama to jointly safeguard unity and strengthen national solidarity in facing various global challenges.
