Intense rainfall accompanied by strong winds caused a wall to collapse at a house in Kemang, Bogor Regency. The collapsing wall debris subsequently fell onto the house beneath it. ‘Due to the high-intensity rainfall lasting for some time, together with strong winds, residents’ houses were affected. The building wall collapsed and debris from the wall fell onto the house below,’ said M Adam Hamdani, Head of Emergency and Logistics at the Bogor Regency Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), to reporters on Wednesday (4 March 2026). The incident occurred when the area was drenched in heavy rain for an extended period on Tuesday (3 March) at around 10:30 p.m. WIB. A total of two houses sustained damage. ‘The house owned by Dedi had a wall collapse in the bedroom area, classified as moderate damage. (Then) one house sustained light damage due to debris from the collapsed wall of Mr Dedi’s house,’ Adam said. ‘The wall that collapsed is not yet permanent and has not been plastered. Further action from all relevant parties is needed to prevent the debris from widening,’ he added. The heavy rain with strong winds also caused roof damage to a house in Ciseeng, Bogor Regency, last night. No fatalities were reported in that incident. ‘Further handling by relevant authorities is needed as there is concern that if heavy rain accompanied by strong winds recurs, the damage could worsen,’ he added.
