The Golkar Party Ethics Council has imposed ethical sanctions on three cadres from the party’s South Sumatra branch after they were found to have violated the code of ethics through social media posts considered detrimental to the party’s good name. The three were deemed to have spread narratives, images, and videos that generated negative perceptions of the Ethics Council, the Golkar Party, and the party leadership.

Chairman of the Golkar Party Ethics Council, Mohammad Hatta, delivered the ruling alongside the ethics judges at the DPP Golkar Party Ethics Council Office on Friday (26/6). The three sanctioned cadres are Deni Hegar, Muhammad Akbar, and Ahlan Wilmana. The hearing for Deni Hegar was held on 2 June 2026, while the hearings for Muhammad Akbar and Ahlan Wilmana took place in several stages on 22 June, 24 June, and concluded with the reading of the verdict on 26 June 2026.

The panel, led by Mohammad Hatta, found the three cadres guilty of uploading content on various social media platforms that contravened organisational regulations. These actions were deemed to have injured the party’s honour and contradicted the cadres’ obligation to safeguard the organisation’s dignity.

According to Mohammad Hatta, every internal party matter should be resolved through organisational mechanisms as stipulated in the Articles of Association, Bylaws, Party Regulations on Organisational Discipline, and the Golkar Party Code of Ethics, rather than being aired in the public domain.

In its ruling, the Ethics Council stated that the three cadres were proven to have violated the Golkar Party’s basic principles known as PD2LT, which stands for Achievement, Discipline, Dedication, Loyalty, and Irreproachable Conduct. Their posts were considered not to reflect loyalty as cadres and had the potential to damage the party’s image in the eyes of the public.

As a consequence, the Ethics Council imposed ethical sanctions and issued a warning to the three individuals not to repeat similar actions. The Ethics Council stressed that any future violations could result in more severe sanctions in accordance with organisational regulations.

On that occasion, Mohammad Hatta also reminded all Golkar Party cadres across various regions to safeguard the party’s good name, uphold the values of PD2LT, and prioritise internal mechanisms in resolving any organisational issues.

He expressed hope that all cadres would focus their attention on strengthening the organisation and preparing for the 2029 political agenda, so that the Golkar Party can continue to enhance its contribution to society and national development.
