Three former officials of the North Sumatra High Prosecutor’s Office (Kejati Sumut) have been entrusted with strategic positions at the Indonesian Attorney General’s Office (Keagung) following the issuance of a Presidential Decree on the appointment of echelon I officials within the institution. Head of Legal Information at Kejati Sumut, Rizaldi, confirmed the appointments, stating that the decree has been issued and the three have officially assumed their roles as Deputy Attorney General, Junior Attorney General for General Crimes (Jampidum), and Head of the AGO’s Education and Training Agency. Asep Nana Mulyana, who previously served as the Assistant for Special Crimes at Kejati Sumut from January to October 2015, also has a track record as the Head of the Stabat District Prosecutor’s Office, now known as the Langkat District Prosecutor’s Office, since 2012. Meanwhile, Leonard Eben Ezer Simanjuntak formerly served as the Assistant for Intelligence at Kejati Sumut before being promoted to Coordinator at the Junior Attorney General for Intelligence in July 2019. During his tenure in North Sumatra from 2018 to mid-2019, he was known for actively leading operations to apprehend fugitives on the wanted list. He subsequently served as Inspector III in the Junior Attorney General for Supervision before being appointed to lead the AGO’s Education and Training Agency. Rizaldi noted that the placement of these three former Kejati Sumut officials reflects the leadership’s trust in Adhyaksa personnel who possess experience in law enforcement, organisational management, and human resource development. He added that with these promotions, North Sumatra has once again contributed its best cadres to the AGO leadership through the strategic placement of these three former officials.
