Three former Customs and Excise officials face first trial in bribery case

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Three former officials of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise of the Ministry of Finance are facing their first trial regarding alleged bribery and gratification related to the import of counterfeit goods at the Corruption Court of the Central Jakarta District Court on Friday.

The three individuals are the former Director of Enforcement and Investigation of Customs, Rizal; the former Head of the Sub-directorate of Intelligence of the Directorate of Enforcement and Investigation of Customs, Sisprian Subiaksson; and the former Head of the Customs Intelligence Section I of the Directorate of Enforcement and Investigation of Customs, Orlando Hamonangan.

According to the Case Tracking Information System (SIPP) of the Central Jakarta District Court, the trial, which is scheduled for the reading of the indictment, will be held in the Muhammad Hatta Ali courtroom, presided over by Chief Judge Brely Yuniar Dien.

A day later, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) named six individuals as suspects in the case of alleged bribery and gratification related to the import of counterfeit or fake-branded goods within the Customs environment.

The other three suspects are the owner of Blueray Cargo, John Field; the Head of the Import Documentation Team at Blueray Cargo, Andri; and the Operational Manager of Blueray Cargo, Dedy Kurniawan.

The KPK subsequently named the Head of the Excise Intelligence Section of the Directorate of Enforcement and Investigation of Customs, Budiman Bayu Prasojo, as a new suspect on 26 February 2026.

Meanwhile, John Field, Andri, and Dedy Kurniawan underwent their first trial on 6 May 2026 in a separate case.

In the indictment of the three defendants, the name Djaka Budi Utama was mentioned alongside Rizal, Sisprian, and Orlando during a meeting with several cargo entrepreneurs at a hotel in Jakarta in July 2025.

During the trial on 20 May 2026, the KPK public prosecutor stated that Djaka is alleged to have received bribes amounting to 213,600 Singapore dollars.

In the trial on 12 June 2026, John Field admitted to providing up to Rp21 billion to Djaka Budi Utama.
