Three foreigners arrested

JAKARTA (JP): Three women holding passports issued by the Republic of China have been arrested in West Jakarta for allegedly violating their working permits.

Head of immigration's control and supervision department, Zaiman Nurmatias, said Friday the three were arrested on June 21 at the Sydney 2000 entertainment center, on Jl. Mangga Besar.

Their names would be included on the immigration blacklist and they would be deported from the country, Zaiman said.

He said the three women had illegally earned tips from their side jobs as call girls.

"They worked as call girls at a singing hall at the Sydney 2000, a place in which they had legally been permitted to work as singers and karaoke guides," Zaiman said.

Zaiman said the three were identified as Ju Han Hui, 25, Jin Shan Yu, 31, and Gu Li Xue, 34.

"They had licenses from the Ministry of Manpower to work as singers in other cities, including Palembang, Medan and Surabaya," Zaiman said.

The three women arrived in the country on business visas issued by the Indonesian Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand.

"Their visits and activities as singers here were guaranteed by PT Dian Okta Utama," Zaiman said.

The three claimed they were ordered to also work as call girls by a godmother at the entertainment center. (cst)
