Three foreign nationals in Bali have been arrested on suspicion of producing and distributing pornography. The suspects—two French citizens and one Italian national—are alleged to have attempted to profit from creating and distributing pornographic video and content, according to Joseph Edward Purba, chief of police for Badung District in Bali.

The foreign nationals face potential imprisonment of up to 10 years on charges of pornography production, with an additional six-year sentence possible for online distribution of pornographic content.

According to Purba, the investigation into the foreign tourists was triggered by a viral video containing pornographic material that circulated on social media. Immigration officers subsequently arrested the suspects: a French woman described as the “content creator” and an Italian national as they attempted to leave Bali for Thailand. A French man, suspected of acting as manager, was apprehended several days later in Badung.

This is not the first instance of foreign nationals in Bali being arrested for producing indecent content. In the previous year, British adult film actress Bonnie Blue was deported from Bali after being fined for a traffic violation, which became the sole proven charge from the pornography production investigation.

Bali officials have complained about disorderly conduct by foreign tourists, including several Russian influencers who were expelled for posing naked at sacred sites. As a result of such improper behaviour, numerous tourists have been deported in recent years.
