Three Executives of PT Dana Syariah Indonesia Face First Trial in Depok

The first trial in the case of alleged fraud and embezzlement of investment funds at PT Dana Syariah Indonesia (DSI) officially opened at the Depok District Court, West Java, on Wednesday (22/7/2026). Three company executives, namely President Director Taufiq Al Jufri, Director/Advisor Mery Yuniarni, and Commissioner Arie Rizal Lesmana, were charged over alleged fictitious projects and money laundering offences, with total customer losses estimated to have reached more than Rp1.3 trillion to Rp2.4 trillion. The session proceeded with the reading of the indictment by the public prosecutor. The trial was conducted in an orderly manner under the security of court officers and the police. A number of customers and the defendants’ families were observed following the proceedings. This initial hearing marks the beginning of the evidentiary process, which will continue with the defendants’ responses and the examination of witnesses and evidence in subsequent sessions.
