The Ministry of Finance now has three Deputy Finance Ministers following President Prabowo Subianto’s inauguration of Luky Alfirman and Nurkholisoh Ibnu Aman at the State Palace, Jakarta, on Thursday (1/10/2026).

Both individuals were appointed to assist Finance Minister Suahasil Nazara. With the addition of Luky and Nurkholisoh, the Deputy Finance Minister lineup now consists of Juda Agung, Luky Alfirman, and Nurkholisoh Ibnu Aman.

The addition of these two deputy ministers has brought attention to the division of duties within the Ministry of Finance. Suahasil stated that the specific task allocation for the three deputies has not yet been determined and will be discussed further.

Division of Duties for Three Deputy Ministers Still Being Formulated

Suahasil explained that the Ministry of Finance possesses an extremely broad scope of work, and the presence of three Deputy Finance Ministers is expected to strengthen the ministry’s leadership ranks.

“We now have three deputy ministers who will certainly cover the entirety of the Ministry of Finance’s work, which is indeed very large and has a very wide scope,” she said in Jakarta on Thursday.

According to Suahasil, each official has been inaugurated as a Deputy Finance Minister. Therefore, a more detailed division of duties will be discussed once the entire leadership team begins working together.

Suahasil also mentioned that the now more complete leadership structure of the Ministry of Finance is expected to support the execution of various ministerial tasks.

“All of the highly comprehensive work of the Ministry of Finance will be carried out collectively and comprehensively so that we can achieve the maximum possible benefit,” she added.

Suahasil Highlights Inflation, PMI, and Trade Balance

In addition to discussing the new leadership structure of the Ministry of Finance, Suahasil also touched upon several recently released economic indicators.

She noted that Indonesia’s inflation in September 2026, at 3.28 per cent year-on-year, remains within the inflation target. This figure was previously announced by BPS-Statistics Indonesia on the same day.

Suahasil also highlighted developments in the manufacturing sector. S&P Global data shows that Indonesia’s Manufacturing PMI rose to 52.4 in September 2026 from 49.8 in August. A figure above 50 indicates that the manufacturing sector has returned to an expansionary zone.

Furthermore, Indonesia’s trade balance recorded a surplus of US$3.55 billion in August 2026. The data shows that Indonesia’s exports reached US$26.61 billion, while imports stood at US$23.06 billion.
