Three Demonstrations to Be Held in Jakarta Today, Watch Out for Potential Congestion at Several Points

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com — Three demonstrations will be held in the Central Jakarta area on Wednesday (20 May 2026). The Public Relations Head of the Central Jakarta Metro Police, Iptu Erlyn Sumantri, said the protests will take place at three different locations from morning until early afternoon. The first rally will be held at 08:00 WIB in front of the DPR/MPR Building, Senayan. The second rally will take place at JiExpo Kemayoran at 10:00 WIB, conducted by supporters from DPC GRIB Jaya Kota Jakarta Pusat. For security, 7,345 police personnel have been deployed at several protest sites in Central Jakarta. Erlyn said traffic engineering will be applied situationally, adjusting to conditions and the number of people on the ground. ‘Residents can seek alternative routes during the demonstrations,’ Erlyn added.
