Mataram (ANTARA) - The West Nusa Tenggara High Prosecutor’s Office (Kejati NTB) has stated its readiness to face reports from three defendants in the NTB DPRD gratuity case, who are currently undergoing trial proceedings. “We are prepared to provide clarifications to all institutions that are the targets of the reports,” said Assistant Special Criminal Prosecutor of Kejati NTB, Muh. Zulkifli Said, in Mataraman on Wednesday. He noted that the reports are the rights of the defendants, so the prosecutor’s office does not close itself off to the legal steps taken. According to Zulkifli, the handling of the case from the initial stage has been carried out in accordance with procedures, including the determination of suspects based on sufficient evidence. “As conveyed by our leadership, yes, they have the right. Please go ahead. We’ll see how far it goes,” he said. He explained that the report is a form of request for supervision to ensure the legal process runs fairly. In addition, they also ask law enforcers to apply the principle of justice to the recipients who, to this day, still hold witness status. Defendant Indra Jaya Usman is alleged to have given Rp1.2 billion to six NTB DPRD members, while Muhammad Nashib Ikroman is accused of giving Rp950 million to six other NTB DPRD members. Prosecutors in the indictment state that the acts were carried out after the defendants met the Head of the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD) NTB, Nur Salim. The programme was planned to be implemented by six regional apparatus organisations within the NTB Provincial Government.
